Rachel Winebarger was born and raised in Asheville, NC, before moving to beautiful Ashe County in 2023. She graduated summa cum laude from Western Carolina University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She is a proud member of the 4-H Honor Club, the National Society of Leadership and Success, Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society, and Tau Sigma National Honor Society.

Rachel joined the Southmountain family in 2023 as a Family Advocate at the Ashe County Children’s Advocacy Center, combining her education, training, and deep compassion to support individuals facing challenges or seeking resources.

Beyond her professional role, Rachel is dedicated to honoring and preserving the history of Ashe County. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Ashe County Museum, is an active member of the Ashe County Cemetery Committee and Ashe County Young Professionals, and volunteers frequently to give back to her community.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, DIY projects, cooking, baking, crafting, and teaching her cat, Clover, new tricks. She is also an avid Disney fan.
